With the world back after the prolonged lockdown resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospitality industry has reopened its doors. However, it still faces several challenges for its economic recovery, one of them is the urgency of having trained personnel.
In response to this cause, the family liquor company, Bacardi, has reactivated its Shake Your Future program in the city of Paris, a job training case that seeks to provide the opportunity for young adults to train as professional bartenders , while helping to bars and restaurants to meet the demand for staff that they urgently require.
Bacardi launches bartender training
Professional training will begin with a 10-week program that will be run in collaboration with the European Bartender School. Students will receive training in the art of bartending and cocktail making, thereby gaining valuable work experience with important company partners. In 2022, Groupe Bertrand and The Hoxton, leaders in the hospitality industry, join the programme.
This is the third time the initiative has Chile Mobile Number List taken place in Paris and the first time since the global pandemic forced the hotel industry to close its doors. The lockdown may have ended long ago, but its impact is still being felt today in bars and restaurants suffering from a severe shortage of trained staff.
“Through Shake Your Future , Bacardi is proactively doing its part to help our friends in the hospitality community by bringing new talent to the industry and promoting hospitality as an exciting and rewarding career.”
Camille Durand, Director of Human Resources at Bacardi in France, Italy and Greece.
The students who begin the program in Paris in the last week of November 2022, follow in the footsteps of Shake Your Future graduates from previous editions who are currently working in bars and restaurants in this capital and beyond.
The Bacardi job training case
For Tim Abenhaim, Restaurant and Bar Manager at The Hoxton Paris, collaborating with this program is a great pride, which will also offer at least one of this year's students a four-week internship in one of The Hoxton's bars.
«It's a win-win. “For the student, there is no better way to gain valuable experience than behind one of our busy bars at The Hoxton, where we pride ourselves on the quality of our drinks and the quality of service for every guest.”
Tim Abenhaim, Restaurant and Bar Manager at The Hoxton Paris.
Likewise, Tim Abenhaim said that like many other bars and restaurants around the world, the company where he works is also eager to find new talent that has the skills and passion to commit to this incredible sector that is hospitality.
Bacardi seeks candidates for its Shake Your Future program
As in previous years, Bacardi partnered with France's unemployment office, Pôle Emploi, to identify the best candidates for the Shake Your Future program . This social impact program was born in Paris in 2018, when Bacardi launched the initiative to help address the youth unemployment crisis on the doorstep of its former office in the Paris suburb of Saint-Ouen (the office has since moved to Saint -Denis).
